As with the time-lapse of a plant that shows its growth from seed to flower, or with a high speed camera capturing the trotting of a horse in slow motion, Montreal based filmmaker Daniel Dietzel is interested in the capacity of the film or video camera to show us a vision of the world that we cannot see with our own eyes. His work focuses largely on the concept of Concurrent Time (two or more distinct times in one space on the same screen simultaneously) as a way of expressing how we experience time in the 21st century. His work in this vein has included 24.24.24. (2016), Beaver Lake, August 25th, 2018, Ciel Variable (2018) and ‘til the end of time (2024).
